The Inter-American Institute for Global Change Research (IAI) has opened the call for applicants to a Science, Technology, Policy (STeP) fellowship supervised by the Smithsonian Tropical Research Institute (STRI) in Panama to support the Technical Secretariat of the Eastern Tropical Pacific Marine Corridor (CMAR in Spanish) headquartered in Panama. CMAR is an intergovernmental agreement signed by Panama, Costa Rica, Ecuador, and Colombia to ensure connectivity and to promote the transnational protection of marine resources. The fellow will focus on the 2025-2035 CMAR work plan and co-design a research project on socio-ecological aspects related to one or more of the challenges of the UN Decade of Ocean Sciences for Sustainable Development (2021-2030). This is an opportunity for professionals in the early stages of their careers in marine science, conservation, and public policy.
