The PAGES (Past Global Changes) project and the Inter-American Institute for Global Change Research (IAI) have co-organized a webinar on “Interdisciplinary and international collaborative networks to promote past global change research in Latin America and the Caribbean.”

In 2021 PAGES and IAI launched a joint fellowship program to promote paleoscience networks in Latin America and the Caribbean, supporting early-career scientists to pursue international research experience from labs within the region. In this webinar, fellowship awardees will share some of their experiences on the program and lessons learned. They will be accompanied by renowned scientists from South America and the Caribbean to discuss the challenges and opportunities of international and interdisciplinary collaboration and pathways to involve researchers from low- and middle-income countries in this network.

We will have the participation of:

  • Marie-France Loutre, Executive Director of PAGES
  • Marcella Ohira, IAI Deputy Executive Director and Director of Capacity Development

IAI-PAGES Fellows:

  • Matias Baranzelli, Argentina
  • Monica Vicente, Bolivia

Researchers from South America and the Caribbean:

  • Cristiano Mazur Chiessi, Brazil
  • Francisco William da Cruz Junior, Brazil
  • Catalina Gonzalez - Arango, Colombia
  • Claudio Latorre, Chile
