2021 AAAS-TWAS course on Science Diplomacy

AAAS has partnered with The World Academy of Sciences (TWAS) since 2011 to organize a week-long summer course at TWAS headquarters in Trieste, Italy, to introduce science diplomacy to participants from the global South and explore key contemporary international policy issues relating to science, technology, environment and health. Since 2014, more than 200 alumni from more than 50 countries have participated. Due to COVID-19 travel restrictions in 2020, the course was held virtually for the first time. You can find more information about the AAAS-TWAS partnership as well as articles about past courses, here: https://www.aaas.org/program/center-science-diplomacy/training

This year we are introducing a change in the course’s format. Applications are not solicited from individuals as in the past but from a participant pair, made up of a young scientist and a co-applicant from the policymaking arena. We are in the process of selecting the participants. You can read the call for submissions here: https://www.aaas.org/events/2021-aaas-twas-course-science-diplomacy
